The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) supports rural people in developing countries and relies heavily on photography to communicate its work and supply partners with content. IFAD struggled with an outdated internal image system: high-resolution files and metadata weren’t stored together, staff had to dig out CDs and upload images to FTP on request, and there was no easy way to give instant global access to designers and partners.

After researching DAM options IFAD chose Asset Bank — a cloud-hosted, cost-effective system that was customised and installed in late 2010. The platform has been live for over a decade, adding photo-essay, e-card and social features, improved reporting and user support, eliminated CD-based distribution, and made sharing high-quality assets across the organisation and its partners simple and reliable.
