LEDVANCE streamlines SCIP submissions for 3,000+ employees with Assent

LEDVANCE, a global lighting manufacturer, faced the significant challenge of adapting to new EU SCIP database requirements mandated by the Waste Framework Directive. The manual submission of data for thousands of products was unsustainable, creating a need for a cost-efficient solution to manage complex compliance and engage its global supply chain. To address this, LEDVANCE partnered with vendor Assent to use its supply chain data management and submission service.

Assent provided a system that integrated directly with the ECHA submission portal, automating the SCIP process and drastically reducing manual workload. This allowed a small internal team at LEDVANCE to manage compliance for its 17 European subsidiaries centrally. The solution delivered measurable results by significantly decreasing investment costs, providing multilingual supplier support, and enabling the company to outsource ongoing data gathering and technical adaptations for future regulation changes.
