The European Medicines Verification System (EMVS) faced the challenge of complying with a new EU Directive on Falsified Medicine by creating a system to prevent counterfeit drugs from entering the legal supply chain. They partnered with Assemblysoft to develop a cloud-native solution capable of scanning, verifying, and authenticating medicines against a national repository, which required complex integration and strict regulatory compliance.

Assemblysoft developed a bespoke solution utilizing Azure Service Bus, Topics, Queues, and a custom Workflow Engine to create a robust and dynamic verification infrastructure. The results included enhanced medicine safety, full compliance with the directive, and a reliable end-to-end verification process that was tested with several billion records, significantly strengthening public health safety across Europe.
