Case Study: eSantéLux EHR - DSP achieves automated PDF/A-1 compliance and seamless uploads with Aspose

A Aspose Case Study

Preview of the eSantéLux EHR - DSP Case Study

Using Aspose.Total for Java to convert various documents to PDF/A-1

eSantéLux EHR - DSP, the national Electronic Health Record managed by Agence eSanté Luxembourg, faced a major challenge: patients and health professionals submit documents in many formats but the DSP document repository requires strict PDF/A-1 (ISO 19005-1) conformance for long-term archival and interoperability. To solve this, the project adopted Aspose (using Aspose.Total for Java components such as Aspose.Words for Java and Aspose.Pdf for Java) to provide reliable, standards-compliant conversion of diverse document types into PDF/A-1.

The vendor solution was implemented as a lightweight, Maven-addable document-converter module integrated into the EHR that automatically converts uploaded files (DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT, PDF, etc.) to PDF/A-1 and displays the converted file for user confirmation. Using Aspose, the team preserved document formatting, resolved technical issues with vendor support, and delivered a production-ready converter in two months. The change eased user uploads, ensured only PDF/A-1 documents are stored, and supports the DSP pilot scale (over 22,000 DSPs already opened, with 50,000 expected soon and up to 850,000 planned), demonstrating clear operational and scalability impact from Aspose.
