Case Study: W3K Technology achieves secure, controlled PDF conversion and printing of CAD & Office files with Aspose

A Aspose Case Study

Preview of the W3K Technology Case Study

Using Aspose.Net Total to convert CAD drawings and Office documents to PDF

W3K Technology, a provider of a cloud-based engineering document management system for industrial capital projects in Brazil and Latin America, faced a need to control printed copies of MS Office and AutoCAD files so field teams would only accept blueprints printed from the system. To eliminate version-control risk and allow non-CAD users to print controlled copies, W3K sought a vendor solution and chose Aspose (Aspose.Total for .NET family, specifically Aspose.CAD and Aspose.PDF) to handle document-to-PDF conversion and watermarking.

Using Aspose.CAD to convert DWG files and Aspose.PDF to apply controlled-copy watermarks, Aspose enabled in-browser viewing and printing without CAD/Office installs and allowed W3K to restrict access to original CAD files. The implementation was smooth, met W3K’s objectives, reduced the risk of circulating incorrect versions, satisfied developers and customers, and laid the groundwork for extending PDF metadata and barcode tracking with Aspose products.
