Croydon Council cuts third-party dependency with Aspire Systems' Azure APIs for 40 million O.S. records

Croydon Council undertook a digital transformation initiative to move its services to the cloud. Their challenges included replicating large datasets like the council tax and electoral roll databases into the cloud and creating efficient search mechanisms to process 40 million address records. Aspire Systems was engaged to provide a solution using Microsoft Azure web services.

Aspire Systems developed two bespoke .NET APIs hosted on Azure. The Parking Permit Lookup API checks applicant eligibility, and the Address Lookup API searches national and local property databases, freeing the council from third-party services. The solution delivered by Aspire Systems resulted in lower costs, cloud-based services, and reusable APIs for future council applications.
