Sky Production Services (SPS), part of Sky — Europe’s leading entertainment company — needed a faster, more secure way to ingest and share news and programming after acquiring Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland and moving from tape to file‑based workflows. The challenge was to reliably transfer large, pre‑air and high‑value files across Europe and with external suppliers while supporting growing cloud and collaborative workflows.

SPS deployed Aspera’s FASP suite — including Point‑to‑Point clients, Faspex with Cargo, Aspera Proxy in active/active HA, encryption in transit and at rest, user authentication, and Aspera On Demand for cloud transcoding — to move content directly into Sky’s MAM and cloud systems. The solution delivered faster, automated and secure transfers, removed third‑party aggregators, improved collaboration with European partners, and helped Sky reliably serve 22 million customers.
