SendtoNews is a cloud-based B2B multimedia news distribution platform that connects citizen and professional content creators with newsrooms and assignment editors. The company needed a way for users on the move to upload large images and HD video quickly and reliably—traditional FTP/HTTP transfers were slow, prone to failure (especially on mobile) and unacceptable during breaking news.

SendtoNews deployed Aspera’s FASP-based Mobile Uploader (integrated with iOS and the Amazon cloud) to provide one‑click, network‑agnostic uploads from iPhone, iPad and browsers with end-to-end control, security, resume/retry and adaptive bandwidth management. The result was predictable, significantly faster transfers (up to 3× on cellular and up to 100× versus FTP over long WANs), higher reliability, easier user adoption and broad newsroom deployment (including the 2010 Olympics and RCMP field use), enabling better coverage and lower costs.
