A Aspera Case Study
M‑Net, a MultiChoice subscription television network serving about 10 million households across 50 African countries, needed to ingest and distribute large, high‑resolution video assets from a wide range of local and international suppliers. Traditional file transfer and physical media workflows were slow, unpredictable and difficult to scale—network latency, packet loss, firewall white‑listing and the logistics of shipping tapes created security and turnaround bottlenecks.
M‑Net deployed Aspera faspex and Connect Server (FASP® technology), integrating them into its web application to enable fast, secure, API‑driven transfers with built‑in encryption, resume‑on‑failure and adaptive bandwidth control. The new workflow increased aggregated monthly ingest capacity from 800 to an expected 1,500 hours, simplified client onboarding, reduced turnaround times and lowered transfer costs while maintaining predictable, high‑speed, enterprise‑grade security.
