High-speed File Exchange and Automation for Complex Media Workflows

France Télévisions, France’s public broadcaster with five national channels and 30 regional sites, needed to replace a rigid FTP-based system that struggled to handle weekly exchanges of thousands of files (about 5 TB) across 150+ locations and global partners. The challenge was to achieve faster, more reliable, scalable and automated content transfers across diverse workflows and remote contributors.

They deployed Aspera’s suite (Orchestrator, faspex, Connect Server, Shares, Console, Proxy) to automate ingestion, virus scanning, metadata extraction, routing and centralized storage while allowing partners and journalists to upload/download large files reliably. The result was a modern, flexible platform delivered on time and on budget, with faster transfers, improved collaboration, strong security, seamless integration and 30 regional sites connected with 50 key users trained.
