A Aspera Case Study
Digital Workshop is a boutique South African film and television post-production house that ingests hundreds of hours and up to several terabytes of DCPs, EPKs, trailers, TV spots and other assets each month. Reliant on slow, unreliable physical shipments and facing growing tapeless workflows and high-latency network conditions, the company needed a predictable, faster way to process and distribute large, diverse media files to local broadcasters and partners.
Digital Workshop deployed Aspera faspex and Aspera Orchestrator—installed and customized in hours—to enable high-speed, resilient transfers and end-to-end workflow automation. Faspex delivers large files reliably across poor networks (with HTTP fallback and automatic resume), while Orchestrator automates ingest, transcoding and QC within the existing IT infrastructure. The result: dramatically reduced delivery times, automated, transparent processing, and expanded monthly distribution capacity from about 500 GB to 3 TB, allowing faster turnaround on music videos, feature films and other content.
