Groupe AB Accelerates and Scales Content Delivery with Aspera

Groupe AB is a leading independent French content publisher and broadcaster with 19 TV channels and a growing library of thousands of hours of programming. As the company moved from tape to file-based delivery — including HD and 4K content — traditional FTP proved too slow and unreliable for multi-gigabyte transfers, creating bottlenecks and risking missed broadcast deadlines. Groupe AB needed a scalable, secure way to move large media files across global locations via Microsoft Azure.

Groupe AB deployed Aspera Faspex On Demand on Azure, using Aspera’s FASP protocol and Faspex API (plus an in-house web app) to accelerate and automate transfers with auto-resume and full bandwidth utilization. The result: up to 5 TB of content exchanged per month, over 90% of video now sent via FASP, much shorter turnaround and production cycles, reduced costs by shifting to cloud OPEX, and faster, more reliable collaboration with partners worldwide.
