Bluebee Life Sciences provides a cloud-based, high-performance genomics analysis platform for hospitals, diagnostic labs and research centers. As Next-Generation Sequencing volumes exploded—sometimes totaling ~360 GB per patient—and Bluebee expanded to 22 datacenters worldwide, customers faced slow, non-scalable on-site uploads, sequence backlog and delayed diagnoses, all while needing strict industry-grade security.

Bluebee integrated Aspera On Demand, Enterprise Server and an Embedded Client (FASP transfer technology) into its platform and Service Connector to move large NGS data sets securely and directly to Bluebee compute centers. The result: dramatically faster, more reliable transfers (tests showed up to 6× speed for a 10 GB file and reported increases up to 35% on slow networks), removal of costly physical media and infrastructure, a pay-as-you-go model that scales on demand, and shorter turnaround times for diagnosis and research.
