Fast Image File Transfer Cuts Container Inventory Tracking Time In Half At Ports

PACECO Corp., a leading global manufacturer of container-handling equipment, needed to reliably track thousands of cargo containers in real time by sending small camera images from Mobile Inventory Vehicles over cellular networks. Their previous embedded messaging solution was slow and unreliable, causing missed image captures, delayed location updates and extra manual work for port staff.

PACECO deployed Aspera Embedded Client and Enterprise Server (built on the fasp protocol) in its mobile computers to send images securely and at high speed. The change cut image transfer times in half (from 3–4 seconds to 1–2 seconds), provided robust automatic resume and packet-loss tolerance, scaled to thousands of concurrent transfers, and reduced cellular bandwidth and cost—enabling accurate, real-time container tracking.
