Fast and reliable transfers for playout services and delivery to VOD platforms worldwide
SES Platform Services, a subsidiary of satellite operator SES, runs one of Europe’s most modern broadcasting centers offering content management, archiving, playout preparation and file delivery. As the industry moved from tape to file‑based workflows, SES needed a fast, reliable, and flexible transfer mechanism—faster than FTP—to meet tight playout deadlines, accommodate diverse customer workflows, and avoid unacceptable errors or delays.
SES deployed Aspera’s suite (Connect Server, Desktop Client and Orchestrator) integrated into its web UI and MAM, enabling high‑speed, secure uploads and automated end‑to‑end workflows. As a result, SES now ingests several hundred files (about 3 TB) daily, delivers roughly 100 files to VOD platforms worldwide, provides a single secure entry point for incoming content, and streamlines onboarding and workflow automation across its complex environment.
