Enhancing Data Movement for Aspire Academy

Aspire Academy, a government-funded sports institution in Qatar that develops young athletes and records matches across its global clubs and partner teams, faced a growing challenge: reliably moving multi-gigabyte football recordings from stadiums around the world to its Doha headquarters and to third‑party analysts and cloud storage. Traditional methods like FTP were slow, error-prone and impractical given large file sizes (2–20 GB), long distances and varied network conditions.

The academy implemented Aspera Faspex, Aspera On Demand (for Microsoft Azure), mobile clients and Aspera Console to transfer footage directly from stadiums to Doha and push content into Azure storage. As a result, transfers that once took days now complete in minutes or hours, files are available to stakeholders within hours after games, and the faster turnaround has accelerated video analysis and talent identification.
