Delivering Critical Data To The Customer Success Team At Maximum Speed

NetApp Customer Success Services (CSS) provides 24/7 support for customers using NetApp storage and data-management solutions and requires large “core” log files from customer sites to diagnose issues. Their web HTTPS uploader capped at 4 GB and FTP was unreliable (failed transfers had to be restarted), so customers with cores up to 130 GB faced slow, error-prone uploads or expensive, insecure physical retrievals. NetApp needed a fast, reliable, secure global transfer solution.

NetApp implemented Aspera’s FASP-based suite (Point-to-Point, Connect Server, Console) and professional services to add a browser plug‑in, automated workflows, routing, and transfer monitoring. The result: automatic routing and resume of large uploads, distance‑agnostic transfers of files up to ~130 GB to the Sunnyvale ingest site, transfer speeds up to 9–10× faster than HTTPS, enterprise-grade security, and roughly $1M saved by avoiding a regional datacenter build-out — enabling faster diagnoses and improved customer experience.
