Case Study: Deutsche Welle achieves up to five times faster global delivery of time-critical 1 TB media files with Aspera

A Aspera Case Study

Preview of the Deutsche Welle Case Study

Delivering and Receiving Time-critical News Content Anywhere

Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany’s international broadcaster, delivering news, features and documentaries in multiple languages to a global audience. Faced with growing volumes of high‑resolution video—typically 10 GB to 1 TB per file—and a need to exchange time‑critical content quickly with partner stations and postproduction houses worldwide, DW found FTP transfers too slow and unreliable for its 24/7 news cycle.

DW deployed Aspera faspex with Aspera Cargo and Aspera Console, using FASP® technology to accelerate, secure and manage large file exchanges without additional hardware. The solution integrated into existing workflows, enabled priority delivery and automatic notifications/downloads, and gave administrators centralized visibility and control. As a result, transfer speeds increased up to five times, 1 TB files are reliably sent and received from anywhere, and onboarding new partners and managing global distribution became faster and more efficient.
