BT Sport Selects Aspera To Drive High-Performance File Transfer At BT Sport's New Production Hub In Stratford

BT Sport launched a world‑class production hub at London’s iCITY in 2013 and engaged Timeline Television to build a 24/7 broadcast facility on a very tight timeline. The challenge was to support intensive file‑based workflows—secure, multi‑gigabit ad‑hoc ingest and distribution—while automating end‑to‑end workflows and replicating petabytes of media to an offsite disaster‑recovery site at the BT Tower.

Timeline and Aspera deployed a full Aspera stack (Orchestrator, Sync, faspex and Console) to automate workflows, enable fast ad‑hoc delivery and provide high‑speed replication and centralized management. The result: sustained multi‑Gbps transfers (up to 5 Gbps), synchronization of as much as 40 TB/day to the DR site, near‑zero recovery time with BT Tower available as a satellite production facility, seamless third‑party integration and completion of the rollout in under six months.
