Aspera fasp powers high-speed transfers of eSlides within the Aperio ePathology Cloud Solution

Leica Biosystems’ Aperio ePathology Solutions, a leader in digital pathology, needed to move very large whole-slide images (eSlides) and multi-gigabyte patient cases quickly and securely between sites and around the globe. Uploading these massive files reliably was a bottleneck for expert collaboration and timely diagnosis.

To solve this, Leica embedded Aspera’s fasp-powered Connect Server into its ePathAccess platform using Aspera’s APIs, enabling secure, high-speed transfers across the Aperio Managed Network. The integration accelerated uploads, cut turnaround times, eliminated travel-related delays and costs for consultations, and helped remote sites expand patient services.
