Arirang TV Selects Aspera To Deliver Mission-Critical Media Assets To Broadcasters In 188 Countries

Arirang TV, an international public broadcaster based in Seoul founded in 1996, operates three channels that reach nearly 90 million households across 188 countries and offers multilingual subtitles. As demand for digital media and real‑time worldwide distribution grew, Arirang needed a new networked file transfer and management system that could deliver mission‑critical events to broadcasters with high-speed transfers, configurable bandwidth controls, automatic resume, monitoring, and robust security — all on a tight timeline and limited budget.

After evaluating the market, Arirang implemented Aspera’s fasp™-based technology, deploying Aspera Connect Server with the Aspera Connect browser plug‑in (and faspex server) to achieve maximum throughput, end‑to‑end security and complete bandwidth control over any network conditions. The solution met their schedule and budget, turning the network into a true content distribution platform and enabling rapid delivery of over 2,000 G20 video clips to more than 50 broadcasters worldwide.
