Premier Meat Company, a west coast meat processor, faced operational challenges due to its rapid growth from a small boutique to a $125M per year business. Their processes for filling sales orders and managing inventory needed to be updated and made more efficient to support this expansion. To address this, they partnered with vendor Aspen Systems to implement the Canopy suite of application modules.

Aspen Systems worked with Premier Meat to utilize the Data Capture module from the Canopy platform. This solution transformed their order fulfillment process by controlling raw goods inventory, reducing the number of weigh/label stations, and creating a custom order assignment system for butchers. The results were highly successful, leading to a very efficient order filling method and extremely accurate inventory, which is now off by less than $10K. This allowed them to reduce full inventories to just once a year.
