Indian Oil Corporation Limited - Customer Case Study

Indian Oil Corporation Limited at the Naphtha Cracker Project in Panipat faced major access-control challenges during a large expansion: roughly 16,000 workers, three main gates, high worker turnover, faded/forged plastic ID cards, and slow badge issuance that took 3–4 days. To solve unauthorized entries and speed up processing, Indian Oil engaged ASK EHS to design and deliver an Employee ID Badging System & Software.

ASK EHS implemented a turnkey solution—instant photo capture and batch ID printing, tamperproof holograms and lamination, barcodes and fingerprint checks, color-coded contractor badges, gate and portable login/logout terminals, large-photo verification displays, fast data synchronization, and customized reporting—plus operator support and training. The system simplified peak-time handling, cut badge issuance to near-instant from days, produced durable low-cost badges, and has been used successfully for four years (more than 1 Lakh passes issued); ASK EHS’s solution was later adopted across the IOCL refinery.
