Laing O’Rourke Group was appointed as principal contractor for the massive expansion of Dubai International Airport, a AED 9.25 billion program that included Terminal 3, new concourses, a VIP pavilion, parking, and a mega-cargo terminal. To support the complex build, the company chose Asite PLC and its collaboration platform to manage project information and workflows across the project team.

Asite PLC provided a collaboration solution that enabled better coordination on the multi-level terminal construction and helped maintain information management throughout the project. The result was the successful completion and opening of Terminal 3 and Concourse 2 in 2008, creating the world’s largest airport terminal at over 1,700,000 m² and supporting capacity growth toward 70 million passengers a year, with Dubai International Airport handling 86 million passengers in 2019.
