DC Water reduces software license reliance with Asite

DC Water, the utility provider for Washington D.C., faced a challenge with asset data stored in information silos across multiple disparate formats and platforms, including SCADA, GIS maps, and Oracle. This required teams to constantly switch between software to get a complete operational view. To address this, DC Water partnered with vendor Asite PLC to find a solution to consolidate this information.

Asite developed a bespoke Common Data Environment (CDE) to centralize DC Water's asset data. The solution enabled teams to access a federated model efficiently, which minimized the need for additional software licenses and reduced the back-and-forth between different applications. This increased the value of their existing information, enhanced collaboration, and improved overall operational efficiency.
