L.K. Bennett Ends Maintenance, Performance, and Security Concerns of Legacy Tape Backup with the Cisco Cloud Connector

L.K. Bennett, the British luxury fashion brand with 174 global outlets, faced maintenance, performance and security problems from a legacy tape-based backup system. Backing up more than 14 TB across a complex mix of physical and virtual servers (including Exchange, SQL and iSeries), the tape approach produced long backup windows, failed backups/restores and concerns about storing data onsite.

Partnering with Backup Technology Ltd. and Asigra, L.K. Bennett deployed the Asigra Cloud Backup Connector Appliance (Cisco Cloud Connector) to enable WAN‑optimized, agentless local and offsite backups to two UK data centers. The move eliminated tape management, shortened backup windows, delivered reliable on‑demand and granular restores (notably email recovery), consolidated backup operations, protected iSeries data and freed IT resources while improving overall business uptime and security.
