A Ascom Case Study
Sengkang General Hospital and Sengkang Community Hospital, a new 1,200-bed healthcare campus in Singapore, faced the challenge of managing the complexity of numerous individual communication systems for patient alerts, nurse call, and workflow management. This disparate environment created potential interoperability issues and administrative burdens. To achieve their goal of simplified communications for team-based care, they partnered with Ascom to implement a cohesive solution built on the Ascom Healthcare Platform.
The solution centered on the Ascom Telligence patient response system, which integrates with Ascom Myco smartphones and workflow stations. This platform moved beyond traditional nurse call by sending alerts and specific requests directly to staff devices, enabling them to communicate with patients before responding. Ascom provided a full range of services, from consulting to ongoing maintenance. The result for the customer was greater workflow coordination, increased staff productivity, and more efficient communication, which was particularly valuable in a time of manpower constraints.
