The Paoli-Calmettes Institute, a cancer treatment center, faced the challenge of managing critical patient alerts from medical equipment in its Intensive Care Unit. The Institute needed to integrate this vital data to improve patient safety and care. Ascom implemented a solution that interfaced with all existing medical equipment, centralizing and intelligently managing alert data. The results included improved staff responsiveness, a significant reduction in alarm fatigue by sending prioritized alerts directly to the correct nurse, and better overall working conditions. This has allowed the institute to more effectively manage an average of 11,000 alerts per month, ultimately enhancing patient safety and care.
