The EDF Group, a leading global producer and supplier of electricity, sought to improve the safety and mobility of its employees across numerous hydraulic and thermal power plants. The customer needed a robust, scalable communication solution that was compatible with existing infrastructure and could operate reliably in demanding environments, such as areas with high humidity.

Ascom implemented a comprehensive mobility and alarm management solution, including DECT mobile devices, IP-DECT infrastructure, and alarm servers. This provided real-time critical alerts and ensured reliable communication for isolated and mobile technicians. The solution, adapted by Ascom to meet specific site constraints, resulted in enhanced employee safety and operational responsiveness. To date, the deployment includes over 1,500 access points, 2,500 terminals, and 15 alarm servers, significantly improving incident management across EDF's factory groups.
