Ragnar Relay, the largest overnight relay series with more than 50 races across the US, Canada and Europe, faced excessive email volume and low personalization because they lacked a complete view of runners’ profiles. To drive race registrations and build loyalty they turned to Ascent360’s Customer Data Platform (CDP) to better understand runners and tailor communications.
Ascent360 implemented its CDP to score runners by past races, proximity to events and other attributes, automatically segmenting audiences and feeding dynamic content into Ragnar Relay’s email templates. The personalization reduced send volume while boosting performance — Ascent360 helped Ragnar achieve a 41% increase in average revenue per email campaign, an 82% increase in open rates and an 84% increase in click-to-open rate.
