A Asana Case Study
United Way of Salt Lake (UWSL), a Salt Lake City nonprofit that supports nearly 1.5 million youth through community programs, was growing rapidly—more volunteers, partners, events and staff—and with that growth came siloed work, email overwhelm, and lack of visibility into projects. Leadership recognized these operational challenges were limiting impact and sought a work-management solution to bring clarity and coordination across teams.
UWSL rolled out Asana organization-wide, trained champions on each team, and integrated it with tools like Google Drive, Outlook, and Slack, enabling mobile access and templates for repeatable work. The result: the team responds to 25% more grant proposals, saves about 15% of planning time on routine projects, improves volunteer onboarding and recruitment tracking, and gains clearer accountability—boosting collaboration and the organization’s ability to serve the community.
