Together We Rise helps 9x more kids in foster care with Asana

Together We Rise is a nonprofit founded by Danny Mendoza to improve the lives of children in foster care—growing to a 35-person team with 100+ corporate partners and 1,500+ foster care agencies and serving over 90,000 youth annually. As the organization expanded, it struggled with accountability and coordination: team members relied on emails and sticky notes, tasks and small but important details fell through the cracks, and leadership lacked visibility into work and priorities.

The team adopted Asana—starting with a low‑stakes onboarding project—and used features like task assignment, deadlines, daily check‑ins, and integrations (via Zapier with HubSpot and Google Sheets) to standardize workflows. The result: clearer accountability, better visibility and alignment across the organization, fewer meetings and follow‑ups, and the capacity to scale programs—growing annual youth served roughly 9x (from about 10,000 to 90,000+)—while inspiring new tech tools to support kids directly.
