Special Olympics Northern California & Nevada is a distributed nonprofit team of about 95 people that produces 300+ events yearly to support athletes with intellectual disabilities and their communities. Abe Cruz, Senior Manager of Design, struggled with scattered requests, missing information, unclear priorities, and no centralized system—issues that hurt asset quality and forced extra review cycles and inefficient meetings.

The team adopted Asana (with nonprofit pricing) to standardize requests, use templates and custom fields, and track priorities and status. That streamlined approvals, cut creative production time by nearly half, reduced time spent in weekly meetings, and helped the team reliably manage hundreds of events—freeing them to create more memorable experiences for athletes, families, and donors.
