A Asana Case Study
Code2040 is a nonprofit founded to close the wealth gap by increasing Black and Latinx representation in tech through programs like its Fellows internship program (about 290 matches to date), the TAP network (4,000 students), and partnerships with 75+ companies. Rapid growth—doubling budget and staff each year—strained a small operations team, with workflows scattered across Google Docs and Slack, making it difficult to scale programs and serve more students efficiently.
To address this, Code2040 centralized work in Asana to manage meetings, file finance/operations/communications requests, and track organization-wide progress. Centralizing agendas, requests (via email-to-project), and project timelines reduced lost information and back-and-forth, made meetings more productive and transparent, and helped the team scale programs and serve more students while continuing to expand their impact.
