A Asana Case Study
C40 is a global network of nearly 100 cities (representing about 25% of global GDP) working to accelerate climate action; its 250+ staff—especially the Measurement and Planning team—coordinate complex, donor-funded climate plans across 97 cities. Work had become scattered across spreadsheets and email, creating silos, scaling limits and visibility problems for managers working across time zones, so the organization needed a single, real-time tool to track hundreds of concurrent projects.
IT recommended Asana and C40 rolled it out with templates, structured onboarding, and integrations (Slack, Velocity, Google Sheets). Each city's plan is tracked as a project with ~50 work packages (about 4,800 workflows total), which streamlined multi-city, multi-year planning, simplified onboarding/offboarding, improved budget visibility, reduced duplicate effort and meetings, and produced clearer, faster reporting for leaders and donors—saving time and money while increasing transparency and scalability.
