A Asana Case Study
Auckland Tourism, Events & Economic Development (ATEED) is the economic development agency for Auckland, New Zealand, and its 40-person Major Events team coordinates festivals, exhibitions and sporting matches to grow the city’s visitor economy. The team relied on spreadsheets, emails and offline documents, which created poor visibility, slow handovers, frequent status meetings and lengthy reporting cycles that hampered event planning and delivery.
ATEED rolled out Asana with manager buy-in, team templates, “super users,” and mobile access to centralize work and streamline processes. The change cut monthly pipeline meetings from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes, reduced monthly reports from two weeks to one day and board reports from three days to half a day, while improving contract management, five-year budgeting, procurement via Forms, and remote collaboration during COVID.
