Largest Global Automakers engaged Arxan Technologies to secure its Connected Car ecosystem after security research highlighted real car‑hacking risks. The automaker needed to protect mobile apps that use vehicle APIs and dealer OBD2 tools from reverse engineering, tampering, cryptographic key extraction, and potential malware migration to ECUs and the CAN bus; Arxan Technologies was selected to apply its application protection suite, including Arxan Code Protection and Cryptographic Key/Data Protection (white‑box cryptography), to harden API libraries and dealer tools.

Arxan Technologies implemented white‑box cryptography to hide keys and its patented code‑guarding to self‑defend applications and dealer tools both statically and at runtime, detect tampering, and block misuse.
