Worker’s Compensation Trust takes the Work Out of Processing Claims with docAlpha

Workers’ Compensation Trust, Connecticut’s workers’ compensation program for the health and human service industry, was struggling with a high-volume, paper-heavy claims workflow—about 4,000 medical bills and reports per month that staff had to sort, route and key manually, limiting throughput to roughly 100–120 bills per day and extending bill processing to 60–90 days. To address this, the Trust selected Artsyl and its docAlpha solution to digitize and streamline claims document handling.

Artsyl implemented the docAlpha transformation platform to scan, capture and automatically associate medical bills and claim documents with the appropriate files, generate 837 files for processing, and enable staff verification through an automated workflow. As a result, Workers’ Compensation Trust now processes nearly 300 bills per day, cut average processing time from 60–90 days to 24–48 hours, eliminated manual record searches, improved accessibility, compliance and auditability, and can expand automation to additional document types.
