Leatherman Combines docAlpha and Dynamics AX to Modernize Its Payables Process and Grow Their Bottom Line

Leatherman Tool Group, the Oregon-based maker of multi-tools and LED lights, needed better visibility and control over its accounts payable as its legacy ERP—heavily customized and nearly 20 years old—couldn’t keep pace with growth. Leatherman had already been using Artsyl’s docAlpha Smart Process Platform to capture invoice data, but required Artsyl to integrate docAlpha with a new Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation to modernize procurement and AP workflows end to end.

Artsyl integrated docAlpha with Dynamics AX to automate invoice capture, indexing, PO matching and ERP transaction creation, enabling a three-person AP team to manage roughly 80,000 invoices a year from nearly 2,000 vendors (about 10,000 payments annually) without adding headcount. The solution streamlined purchase requisitions and approvals, automatically matched POs, quotes and invoices, improved accountability and visibility, and delivered measurable operational efficiency that Leatherman credits with supporting bottom-line growth.
