Caleffi North America, the Milwaukee arm of the hydronic and plumbing manufacturer, faced seasonal surges that overwhelmed its two-person customer service team as they processed complex, multi-line sales orders (over 4,200 line items a month) through SAP. To speed processing and improve accuracy, Caleffi engaged Artsyl to deploy its docAlpha intelligent capture platform.
Artsyl implemented docAlpha (integrated with Maxim ECM and SAP) to automate data capture, validation and SAP transaction creation. The solution cut order-entry time and effort by 66% for multi-line purchase orders, automated about 35% of orders (handling 1,500 line items in November 2016), reduced per-order entry from 5–7 minutes to roughly 2 minutes, lowered errors, improved transparency and auditability, and is projected to expand automation to more than 80% of orders.
