With Storyline 360, Assisting Families of Inmates Supports Children With an Incarcerated Loved One

Assisting Families of Inmates (AFOI) needed to turn its in-person MAC Program into a digital experience that could reach a broader audience while still adapting lessons for different grade levels. Working with Articulate’s Storyline 360, AFOI sought a way to support children with an incarcerated loved one, reduce stigma, and preserve the flexibility of classroom instruction in an online format.

Articulate helped AFOI and Yukon Learning build a 20-week e-learning program with branching interactions, customized activities, and a relatable main character to guide learners. The beta program served 26 children and caregivers and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, and AFOI plans to roll it out to seven Richmond elementary schools and other organizations, expanding access to support and coping-skill development.
