How Articulate Studio ’09 Enables Healthcare Training at SickKids

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a world-leading pediatric teaching hospital in Toronto that trains healthcare professionals across many disciplines. Faced with a high volume of training needs, SickKids was previously dependent on external developers and produced non-interactive modules that couldn’t be tracked by its LMS, while many internal subject-matter experts had little experience in e-learning design.

By adopting Articulate Studio ’09—whose Presenter integrates directly with PowerPoint—and introducing a standardized course development framework, SickKids enabled subject-matter experts to build SCORM-compliant, brand-consistent e-learning quickly and cost-effectively. The change reduced reliance on external vendors, cut backlog and time to market, delivered higher-quality interactive courses, and improved tracking and reporting through the enterprise LMS, while fostering creativity and an expanding e-learning culture.
