Whole Foods Market refreshes Indian School Plaza in 2016 with ArtHouse Design

Whole Foods Market engaged ArtHouse Design to provide a décor refresh for its Indian School Plaza store in Albuquerque. The challenge was to revitalize the store's interior with new signage, murals, and branding to make it a more engaging community hub while ensuring the new design remained authentic to the local Southwestern culture.

ArtHouse Design implemented a solution that included copywriting and graphics inspired by the state motto and local heritage. The vendor used a palette driven by New Mexico sunsets, southwestern patterns, and innovative techniques like upcycled magazine wallcoverings. This approach gave the store a genuine and contemporary flair, successfully enlivening the space while keeping it firmly connected to its ABQ roots. For its work on this project, ArtHouse was recognized with a 2017 GDUSA American Package Design Award.
