State of Colorado earns 4 design awards for Colorado State Capitol wayfinding with ArtHouse Design

The State of Colorado found that its historic Capitol building, a symmetrical and iconic structure, was difficult for the public, staff, and lawmakers to navigate due to accumulated, confusing signage. They engaged ArtHouse Design to create a new suite of signage and wayfinding elements to bring clarity and professionalism to the building's communications.

ArtHouse Design conducted extensive research into the building's history and ornate architectural details to develop an appropriate design direction. Their solution drew visual inspiration from elements like the gold dome and scallop patterns within the Capitol. The resulting wayfinding system was highly successful, earning ArtHouse multiple prestigious awards, including a Gold Award at the 2020 Transform Awards.
