YJFX - Customer Case Study

YJFX, Inc., a Yahoo! Japan subsidiary and at the time the world’s third-largest FX site by trading volume, faced rapidly growing account numbers and mobile usage that threatened service quality—especially during peak events like US employment data releases. The company needed to preserve server performance, offload SSL processing, and maintain ultra-low-latency, highly stable trading operations.

Working with Hitachi Solutions, YJFX deployed Array Networks APV5600 application delivery controllers in high-availability clusters to perform load balancing and SSL acceleration/offload. The deployment cut backend CPU load, delivered stable operation under peak traffic, supported a threefold increase in trading volume (from ~7–9M to 25–26M currency units) and account growth to ~220,000, and reduced rack space—enabling reliable, scalable trading even during high-demand periods.
