City Of Santa Barbara - Customer Case Study

The City of Santa Barbara, a local government serving roughly 90,000 residents, needed secure, anytime/anywhere access to documents and email for key personnel across laptops, desktops and newer mobile devices. Their existing SSL VPN had reached end-of-life and could not support modern browsers, operating systems or smartphones and tablets, creating both access and security challenges.

After testing solutions, the City deployed Array Networks’ AG Series with MotionPro and DesktopDirect (and Duo two-factor authentication), enabling secure SSL VPN access, remote desktop control, mobile app support with secure containerization and remote wipe. The rollout let employees access and control work PCs and enterprise apps from any device as if in the office, while keeping sensitive data off endpoints and protected by layered security measures—improving responsiveness without compromising confidentiality.
