City of Lilburn, Georgia - Customer Case Study

The City of Lilburn, Georgia — a small municipality of about 13,000 residents — needed a secure, easy and cost‑effective way to connect staff in remote fleet and road maintenance facilities to the city network and to let preapproved employees telecommute during weather, medical leave or other disruptions. Running new cabling to those outlying sites wasn’t feasible, and the city required strict access controls so users could only reach authorized applications and data.

Working with reseller Technology Integration Group, the city deployed Array Networks’ AG Series secure access gateway with DesktopDirect remote desktop access. After a trial, the solution proved simple to install and use: authorized staff can securely access office desktops, email and departmental systems from home or remote sites without sensitive data leaving the network. The result is uninterrupted services during disruptive events, minimal training, and secure network access for remote maintenance crews — all without additional cabling.
