Large Internet Company - Customer Case Study

The customer, South Korea's largest Internet company, faced high recurring licensing costs from using multiple commercial DBMS products and had a specific need for a system targeted at the Korean and Asian markets. This led them to partner with vendor Arnia Software to develop an in-house, open-source database management system.

Arnia Software developed CUBRID, a relational database management system, by extending its engine functionality to improve stability, performance, and scalability. The solution successfully replaced the need for costly Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL licenses. As a result of Arnia Software's work, CUBRID is now used by over 100 organizations across diverse sectors including web applications, banking, and defense.
