A ARMS Reliability Case Study
Liquified Natural Gas Producer, one of the world’s largest LNG producers, wanted to optimize maintenance strategies to reduce risk, improve production, and lower costs as new failure modes emerged in turbines, pumps, and fin fans, creating the threat of unplanned shutdowns. To address this, the company engaged ARMS Reliability for a large-scale study covering Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO), along with support for CMMS-ready maintenance strategy updates.
ARMS Reliability analyzed existing maintenance practices, simulated run-to-failure, as-is, and optimized scenarios, and developed new or improved preventive maintenance tasks for key assets. The project identified 265 potential failure modes and delivered an estimated $135 million in savings over 10 years, including reductions in spares, labor, and financial impact, while optimizing 20% of the company’s highest-cost failure classes and helping reduce unplanned shutdown risk.
