Scopely, a game publisher, needed a better way to modernize its deployment tooling as it grew its AWS cloud operation. Its homegrown system relied on CloudFormation, Python scripts, Jenkins jobs, and other tools to manage blue/green and immutable deployments, but it had become too custom and complex to support new teams and future scaling needs. Armory’s enterprise distribution of Spinnaker was introduced to simplify and standardize the deployment process.

With Armory and Spinnaker, Scopely replaced four tools with one, giving engineers a single platform for deployments and helping them shift from VMs to Kubernetes on EC2. The migration to Kubernetes took just a few days, and the broader Spinnaker migration period was 1.5 months. More than 30 engineers now use Armory across 40+ deployment pipelines, with improved efficiency, reduced complexity, and a clearer path to scaling application delivery.
